
The Rivers State Police Command said it has banned the use of sirens, revolving lights and covered number plates by unauthorized persons in the state.
The State Commissioner of Police, Friday Eboka, who disclosed this in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Thursday, said such facilities were being used to commit crimes in the state.
The statement which was signed by the command’s spokesman, Nnamdi Omoni, also banned the use of spies and urged those using the facilities to dismantle them within seven days or be ready to face the law.
The statement read, “It has been observed that criminals and other unauthorized persons are using sirens, revolving lights, spy and covered plate numbers to commit crimes and other atrocities in the state.
