43-year-old Man Arrested With 1M Tramadol Capsules

A 43-year-old man has been arrested allegedly with one million prohibited capsules of tramadol.

Onuoha Friday was arrested with the drugs on December 10 on Lagos Benin Expressway, spokesman of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Femi Babafemi, said in a statement yesterday.

Babafemi said agency officials also arrested a Ghanaian and two Nigerians at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja and Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu for trafficking 9.953kg of cocaine and methamphetamine.


Babafemi said the Ghanaian, John Kadja, 25, was arrested on December 3 with two kilograms of methamphetamine during an outward clearance of Qatar Airways from Abuja to Doha at the departure screening area of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

He said a search of Kadja’s bag showed that the drug was concealed in a false bottom of his luggage on his way to Doha.

He said one of the Nigerian suspects, Uzoh Ndubuisi Johnson, was arrested on December 8 during an inward screening of Ethiopian Airlines passengers at the arrival hall of the airport.

He said Uzoh who arrived from Brazil via Addis Ababa, Ethiopia was arrested with clothes filled with cocaine, weighing 6.7kg.
