Why DSS Invade My Resident- Saraki

Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has explained that the police siege on his residence, that almost stopped him from presiding over Tuesday’s plenary session.

Saraki’s home was locked down by police officers and his convoy prevented from leaving the premises, to attend to the invitation by the Inspector General of Police, Idris Ibrahim.
Officials of the Department of State Security Services, (DSS), the Police as well as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), have also laid siege to Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu’s residence.
The Senate President also explained that Ekweremadu could not be present, because “he cannot get out of his house”.
According to him, the policemen were sent to their respective homes, because some lawmakers planned to dump the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“DSP is absent. He cannot get out of his house. He is being held under siege.
“This morning I could not also leave my street as well because some people believed today’s seating must not hold because some members want to move or defect,” Saraki said.
A total of 15 Senators eventually cross-carpeted to the PDP, before the Senate proceedings was adjourned until September 26.
