After all that stress and real hard work and dieting, you look at yourself in the mirror two weeks later and notice that the fat you lost is starting to accumulate again.


And of course it is very normal, in fact reports shows that only about 20% of dieters who start off overweight end up successfully losing weight and keeping it off in the long term.

But then not to worry, constitency, commitment and determination will go a long way in helping you overcome the problem.

One thing to also note os that, regaining weight is way more easier than losing it, and so one has to be very careful.

But then, we should start off by analysing the possible cause of regaining weight:

  • Some of us get to comfortable already with the new body, so much that we forget about the exercises and type of food we ought to take. We let complements and all get to us, and in no time, the body begins to store up fat again.
  • Restrictive diets: Extreme calorie restriction may slow your metabolism and shift your appetite-regulating hormones, which are both factors that contribute to weight regain.
  • Wrong mindset: When you think of a diet as a quick fix, rather than a long-term solution to better your health, you will be more likely to give up and gain back the weight you lost.
  • Lack of sustainable habits: Many diets are based on willpower rather than habits you can incorporate into your daily life. They focus on rules rather than lifestyle changes, which may discourage you and prevent weight maintenance.
  • Skipping meals like breakfast especially, it is very much inadvisable to do so, unless you're on a fast. As a matter of fact, skipping meals is not going to help for so long, the body needs food in the morning, afternoon, and then in the night. Skipping meals can make you end up eating more than you should.
