Chelsea close in on Gonzalo Higuain

If the rumours are anything to go by, Chelsea Fans could have something to cheer about, as the purported move of Gonzalo Higuain draws closer.

This is no doubt one rumour which Chelsea fans have been reading about this summer.

When Chelsea signed Alvaro Morata twelve months ago, the Blues had hoped to have found a replacement for Diego Costa.
But Morata struggled with injury and form in his first year at Stamford Bridge. He was omitted from the 2018 Spain World Cup squad as a result.
At the same time, rumours continue to get louder that Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain could join Chelsea before the start of the 2018-19 season.
On his well-read blog, Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla has announced that Nicolas Higuain, Gonzalo’s brother, has spoken to Chelsea.
Pedulla claims that Higuain feels insecure at Juventus, and he’s open to a move to the Premier League.
It’s worth noting what’s absent in Pedulla’s article as well. There is no discussion, for example, of how much money Chelsea would need to spend to make the Higuain deal happen.
Higuain, 30, is under contract with Juventus until 2021. Higuain scored 23 goals in 50 matches for Juve in all competitions last season.
There are also several updates in the Italian papers regarding Higuain, Juventus and Chelsea.
Corriere Dello Sport tells their readers that Juventus are keen on signing Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich.
In that regard, CdS note that Higuain is interested in a Premier League move.
La Stampa notes that Higuain is frustrated with his situation in Juventus.
